Advance Father's Day Card...

It's Daddy's turn to get something from a Daughter for “Father's Day”. Again, Lyssa created a shirt with a neck tie as a card designed for her Daddy. Lyssa has given the card to her Daddy yesterday morning, just a simple one but Daddy's was so touched being appreciated by his lovely Daughter...*wink*

How could you Lyssa...Father's Day will be only on 15th June 2008 but gave Daddy the “Father's Day” card 3 weeks earlier??? hehe... so advance pula. But nevermind as long as Daddy happy and feels appreciated...right Daddy?...*wink*

Kaamatan Traditional Foods Competition...

My mother supposed to join the Kaamatan Traditional Foods Competition on last Saturday, but due to some reasons which make her so busy therefore she couldn't make it. I might as well take over in the competition since the participation form has submitted earlier...*grin*

Ooopppsss... traditional foods??? oh no! I never cook or prepare traditional foods before though... *sigh* modern foods no problem lah hehe...

However, I just try my best to cook and prepare what ever it can just for fun mah right. So I ended up my cooking and preparation of “Hinava” (raw fish sprinkled with lime mix with some condiments – red onion, ginger, big chili and bitter gourd), “Pinasakan Sada” (steam fish in traditional way) and “Napa Taduk” (yam stem mix with salted fish)

And the foods look like these;-

At around 4pm on Saturday, I sent the the foods to the Kaamatan vanue in Kg Mogoputih (at my kids nursery owner's house). And guess what??? I almost bring the foods back home due to all the competitors are Veterans (age between 50 above...I guess) Pheeeww... eventhough our foods are mostly the same but their decoration and creativities even look more traditional though, they used the banana leaves, coconut shell and bamboo to put their foods...that is the traditional originality. How come I never thought of using all those huh...*sigh* Oh well, nevermind at least I have an idea for my next competition......*grin* nahhh, no lah just to have fun of it over the weekends hehe...

Anyway, it's worth just to get a consolation prize.

Lyssa's Museum Visit...

Yesterday morning, Lyssa get up very early from her usual time. The moment she woke up she straight away mentioned “Daddy please send me early to school today, I don't want to be late otherwise I'll be left out from our Museum visit” then Daddy said “Ok Song, Daddy will make sure you will arrive at your School before 8.00 am”.

Well, if I'm unable to prepare Lyssa's tapau (take away food) from home, usually after sending my Sons to the Nursery, we will drop by at Towering to get something for her to bring to School...especially “siew mai” (dim sum) it's her favourite. But this particular day, Lyssa insisted NOT to drop by anywhere and asked her Daddy to drive straight to the School...ohhh she is sooooo excited! She told us that the School will provide foods for them. However, she had her breakfast (milk and bread) from home.

When we arrived her school compound, oh dear...she even more excited seeing the 3 big buses (it's an old buses “Penampang Union” the green color one) parked around there...she said “wahh...there are our bus to Museum!” and the moment she went out from the car she ran to her class and left her Daddy behind with her School bag...

After Hubby came back to car, we actually talk about the old buses whether it's safe and all this things (you know what I mean...an old buses bah, we used to called it bus “Luen Thung” during our School days, imagine how long ago...) and while waiting for all the Students to be seated in the bus, one of the driver seems looking for something near to our car, then Hubby asked him;-

Hubby : What are looking for?
Driver : Looking for stones.
Hubby : (Wondering) for what?
Driver : To avoid the bus “go-stunt” (move backward) while parking at the museum later on (he actually wanted to put the stones under the bus tyre while on parking to avoid moving backward). I'm afraid that this bus might not enough power going up the Museum hill road. Out of 5 Penampang Union old buses these are the only 3 buses still in operation...

Wahhh...after the conversation, I can see Hubby's face turn to worries (and I know what's in his mind...hehe) and told me “I hope Lyssa will be going with either with that 2 buses but NOT the one with problem going up the Museum hill road.” So waited for all the Students seated in the bus...2 buses are full but we still hasn't seen Lyssa yet...ohhh man! again Hubby more worry...guess what?... Lyssa will be going with that particular bus with an old driver...I feel so funny looking at Hubby, he is so uncomfortable with it but I told him not to worry, everything will be alright!

In the afternoon, after Hubby fetched Lyssa from the School, Lyssa called me up and shared her excitements and happiness. She said “I saw many different kind of animals lah and bla...bla...bla..., teacher has given us foods and drink and bla... bla... bla...”. She also told me she is soooo tired and fell asleep in the bus on the way back to School...I know that Lyssa enjoyed so much with the Museum Visit...Finally!

Excitements and Happiness Turns To Worries...

Last night a couple (I was told they're Mom's 2nd cousin) came to Grandma's house sending a wedding invitation cards. At that time, it's so co-incident that everyone (Aunties, Uncles and Cousins) gathered at Grandma's house busy talking about attending cousin's wedding on 30th and 31st May 2008 which an invitation cards received earlier and the new cards received also on the same date 31st May 2008. And wow...!!! everyone starts talking about having a good aramaiiii tiii!!! since it's falls on Kaamatan. Then suddenly Grandma says that “we all must go to the weddings as the Bride's parent personally came to sent an invitation cards, means they want us to go as a close relatives” and everyone also excited and agree to go together-gather. Ohhh...man! It's a whole day weddings though, on 30th May, Wedding Ceremony + Hi Tea and 31st May, Lunch and Dinner Receptions.

Without they realizing that I'm going for Bangkok trip on 29th May right up to 1st June and there you go...my excitements and happiness are now turns to worries...*sigh* The most worrying me is because everyone are going to the weddings, especially and my Mother and Auntie Elsie who always be our back up Nanny...*wink* also going...then who will be my hubby “Co-Nanny”??? It's not that I don't trust my Hubby to look after the “three musketeers” alone, but knowing the “three musketeers” very very very well “Co-Nanny” is a must for him...

Until this morning, Hubby and I still talking about who will be the “Co-Nanny”??? Infact he's trying to convince me that he can take care of the kids by himself...but pity him also bah, hubby must have someone to help...

I hope I can figure this out before leaving for Bangkok...*&^%#?!#&?

INSPIRATIONS...

Living in the past is a dull and lonely business, looking back strains the neck and causes you to bump into people not going your way

To a mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders

Until you make peace with who you are, you'll never be content with what you have

There is no such thing as the pursuit of happiness but there is the discovery of joy

And silence like a poultice, comes to heal the blows of sound

Peace is when time doesn't matter as it passes by

Grace is when God gives us what we don't deserve;

Mercy is when God doesn't give us what we do deserve.

My "Nina" (Mother - Morinsia Jinikol) and "Ama" (Father - Anthony Tuyok)

How time flies...without realising my Mother is going to retired soon...next year.

On Friday night, my Mother show me a letter from DBKK, dated 10th April 2008 and she only received it on Friday, 16th May 2008 itself. The letter is to notify her compulsory retirement at the age of 55 years old. As mentioned in the letter, my Mother will be 55 years old on 3rd November 2009, therefore her last working days with DBKK will be on 2nd November 2009. Related to that, my Mother are allow to finish off her leaves before 2nd November 2009 as she's having 69 leaves balance (Year 2008 = 49 days and Year 2009 = 20 days) as per 2nd November 2009 (Wah!!! so advance ohh...can go for round the world holidays...hehe)

My Sister and I jokes to my mother saying that she still look young lah, doesn't look 50's lah and still going strong...*wink* Then I said to my Mother, since it's a compulsory retirement but you still can continue working from home...guess what??? I suggest her to look after my kids (my three grengosz)
*big grin* and guess what's my Mother answer me??? she said "buli bah kalu kau..." (for you, sure possible)...Yessssss!!! given a green light...muuuaahhh!!!

However, I cannot hope so much also right...cause I know my Mother need some rest and this is the time for her to get rest.

But believe you me, once a retired persons start staying at home do nothing or in other words no exercise at all, they can get sick easily... Yes, it's true and it's happened to my Father as he'd decided to take an early retirement at his age of 50 years old and that was 9 years ago... During his retirement he totally do nothing at home nor exercise, he just stayed at home watching TV and go for "aramaii tii" (drinking alcohol). From there on...day by day he starts complaining one by one pain here, pain there. Brought him to the Doctor for several times, most of the time given almost the same medicines (for high blood, joint pain, antibiotic and vitamins) and given the same advises also (to do some exercise, not to drink alcohol and take the right foods), but my Father still continue his independent style at home...you know what I mean...*sigh*

After all the mumbled, bla...bla...bla... and advises from us especially from my Mother...Finally! my Father found a job nearby, just a walking distance from my parents house. My Father works for 3 months now and guess what???...I never hears him complaining pain here and there, what I always heard from him is he always wanted to works overtime... However, he still continue his "high blood" review and continue taking his medication...overall my Father is find...

May GOD bless my parents, may they will always be in good health, Amen.

Dearest Pinky friends...in appreciation of our friendship, here I created a simple cut and paste of our beautiful faces...haha...

A brief about us...we started our friendship 24 years ago (Ann, I believe you will read this, please correct me if I'm wrong kio...). We're staying in the same Kampung, we all went to the same primary school (SRJK St. Anthony, Penampang) and in the same school bus, except for Anas, she's from St. Francis. We started join the Christmas carol's for St Paul's Dontozidon Diosis in Kg Nosoob/Koidupan, as days goes by, since we had a lot of in-command to ourselves, we suddenly came up with an idea to form a group called “The Lucky Pinky Gals”... this is due to the “bat wings” (I mean the “Kuihib” in Kadazan, it's like a long scarf that covered the body, like an angels, as the old time caroler's used to wear this kind of "bat wings") is PINK in color...hahahaa...sounds very funny though, but hey...! we PINKY still stick together till today and forever!!!*wink*...muuuahhh!!! we no longer call ourselves “The Lucky Pinky Gals”...sounds very girlish pula....but just PINKY...

I Signed Up For PPP!

First of all, I would like to thank my Sister In-Law, Carolyn Maurice who convinced me to sign up for blog network. As she mentioned to me that most of the bloggers out there are earning some amount of money from blogging and wow...! talking about earning some amount of money through blogging who doesn't want right...

My SIL actually mentioned about blog network sometimes in March 2008, but couldn't really focus in signing up immediately that time due workloads in the office. However, a few days after that, I get myself signed up for blog network but no posting done yet. Then on April fool, suddenly I came up with an idea to start posting about my family, well, a simple one though but why not for a start. From then a lot of ideas popping up in my mind and continue doing my daily posting.

Day to day, I myself go for blogs hoping and saw a lot of blog advertisements as you can do blog advertising in your page with different advertisers. I was attracted with Pay Per Post, but I really don't have an ideas what is it and how to go about it, till my friend Susan Pudin (also a blogger...*wink*) mentioned about Pay Per Post two days ago and she even gave me the website and asked me to sign up immediately. Without wasting my time I straight away signed up for Pay Per Post on 14th May 2008 and I got the approval replied yesterday, 15th May 2008...I'm so impress with their efficiency. With an eager heart, I went through with all the filling process and there I discovered Pay Per Post is brilliant!!! you will get paid through blogging...so friends out there what are you waiting for! get yourself sign up for blog network, do advertising with different advertisers and after some post made, then you may sign up for Pay Per Post. The best part is, you will make some new friends even meet your long time friends while blogging, like I did! and yes! I made some new friends and even met my primary schoolmate...wow! what a small world...*wink*

I believe once you start earning from Pay Per Post you can do your online shopping...*big grin* I'm looking forward to be the online shoppers...

Once again, my utmost thanks to my SIL Carolyn Maurice for the blog network information and to my friend Susan Pudin for Pay Per Post information and explanation.

Visiting Sabah Museum...

We'd received an official letter from Lyssa's School two weeks ago to notify the parents that the School is organizing a visit to Sabah Museum. After reading the letter, Hubby and I wouldn't agree for Lyssa to participate as at her age is still too early and it's also due to nowadays a lot of unexpected incidents happening everywhere. And it's not that we don't trust the Teachers but they need to take care of too many students. Wahh...we seems negative though...but you know what I mean...;)

Oh no!, Lyssa keep mentioning about visiting Sabah Museum to Jboy, she is sooooo mean though, without knowing Mummy and Daddy disagree with it. Well, discuss further with Hubby, so at last we decided to let her join the visit (pity her...so, we need to be positive also mah kan...:0). Then filled up the form and get Lyssa to submit it last Monday with RM10.00 fees.

Oh well, after she breaks one of the eggshell this morning, she actually continue asking me again when are they visiting Sabah Museum? So then I look at the letter and it will be on 22nd May 2008 (Thursday) and hey.....I only realized that it's also falls on our 9th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY... so, Hubby and I decided to take leave on this particular day...*&#!?*&#!? (yet to plan something nice eh...*wink*)

We thanks Lyssa for reminding Mummy and Daddy the special day...muahhhh!

Eggshell...

Last Tuesday Lyssa was telling me that they were asked by the Teacher to bring eggshell to School (I believe it's for her class activity). I was forgotten about it since no specific date was given when they suppose to bring it to School.

Then, when Lyssa woke up this morning, first thing she reminds me not to forget her eggshell today. She also gave me an idea for her take away meal to School today as she had “siew mai” or “dim sum” since Monday, Lyssa really loves “siew mai”.

So, Lyssa having two eggshell for her to bring to School today, but being sooooo “wormy” in the car this morning, there she breaks one of it...luckily I purposely prepared two eggshell, at least she still have one...

Parents board flight, forget toddler at airport...check it out!

Another news to share to you all. Came across this news in yahoo.co.uk. Ohhhhh... pity the 23 months old boy...

Here it goes...

OTTAWA (AFP) - Tickets, check. Passports, check. Luggage, check. Baby ... oops...

A family boarded a flight on Monday in westernmost Canada, and forgot their tot at the Vancouver international airport, media said Tuesday.

The 23-month-old boy's family had just arrived in Canada from the Philippines, but they were forced to repack their overweight bags before catching a connecting flight to Winnipeg, causing them to run late.

In their sprint to the gate, the family became separated.

The boy's father Jun Parreno, told local media he had thought his son was with his wife and the boy's grandparents, who ran ahead. They thought the boy was with his dad.

On the plane, the family members were seated separately and so did not immediately realize they had left the child behind.

Sometime later, a security guard found the boy, who speaks no English, wandering near the departure gate, and Air Canada officials tracked down his shocked parents on the flight.

Because the boy was so young, he was not issued a boarding pass and would have sat on a parent's lap during the flight, so airline personnel did not notice a passenger was missing.

According to the Vancouver Sun, airport security found a Tagalog-speaking Air Canada agent who looked after the child while his father flew 2,300 kilometers (1,400 miles) back to Vancouver to pick him up and then return to Winnipeg to rejoin the immigrant family on their first day in Canada.

The baby was kept in Air Canada's offices and staff found him some toys, said local media.

"Air Canada took good care of him," Parreno told the daily Winnipeg Free Press upon arrival. "I'm grateful."

Something to share...and be aware, especially ladies...

I think it's good to share below email to you all for safety...received from a friend a moment ago...

Air purifier in Malaysia taxis
( Must Read for your own safety!! )

No matter the taxi driver is chinese, malay or indian, PLEASE BE AWARE! If you notice that there is a sound of spray of perfume or air purifier inside the taxi, PLEASE GET DOWN from the TAXI IMMEDIATELY!!

It just happened to me just now (Original email sender is a lady). It was about 12.45 am . I got into a taxi driven by a malay man.. I was in the taxi for a few minutes, I suddenly heard of a sound of spray and there was a smell like air purifier. I felt weird as to why the driver put two types of air purifiers in his taxi. The smell immediately reminded me about this forwarded email that I read. I started to be aware of my surroundings. But the puff of the purifier kept appearing every few minutes. I was very worried and scared.

Gradually, I sensed that my body started to feel weaker and weaker. The purifier kept puffing from the back seat, just right behind me. As I really felt my whole body is weaken, I asked the driver to let me get down at the side road. But he kept trying to talk to me and ask me why not dropping me off at my destination. I think he was trying to drag the time. To my horror, I felt both of my hands and legs got numbed and no energy, almost could not move.

When I talked to the driver, I could not even speak properly, not to say to shout for help, 'cos I was really too weak... Immediately, at a traffic light I opened the door, jumped out and ran to a passer-by for help.

I really thank God for saving me. If not, I really can't imagine what would have happened to me. I am traumatized by this incident.

This is TRUE case. Please do keep in mind! IT IS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY! I feel the need to share with you guys, no matter you are men or women 'cos it is NOT a LIE , not a made-up story. It really happened. Do let your friends, family members and relatives know about this case. I believe you are just like me, don't wish anybody to be the victim of this case.

My New Purse...*big grin*

My old purse, a gift from a wonderful friend (Sharon), she bought it during her visit to Bangkok two years ago, all the Pinky had one with different colours. A million thanks Sharon...! but so sorry need a change this year and I promise to keep it as a remembrance kio, muahhhh...! :)

A short story about it, on the way back home yesterday we drop by Warisan Square as Suzzane would like to look for new shoes at Vincci but none of the new model arrive yet, therefore we went to Charles & Keith. While looking around, I was attracts with a purse and says to myself wow! such a nice purse but would be better if it's red & black in colour, then Suzzane also agree with me and wanted to buy it, but she asked the Lady to get two sets (I'm wondering???) I asked her why you need two...she said, one for you as a belated Mother's Day gift and I was so happy and thank her for her kindness, and all the Shop Assistants says, “wah...untung kakak dapat kawan baik” again a million thanks my dear long time friend...and now, I'm thinking of what to get for her from Bangkok soon....so mummy out there please give me an idea...

The owner are very friendly, he will be around the floor greeting peoples coming in to his restaurant, very welcoming which make peoples feel happy as well as making peoples to come back. One good thing, they provide fast service due to the lady boss (I think Krishna's wife) always create an urgency to all the staff to move fast for fast service...keep it up!!! ;)

We was stunt looking at a fallen huge crane / container (as in the picture below) from a nearby construction site (Sabah Suria), it's right in front of our office (12th floor, Great Eastern Building) while having our 3 in 1 nescafe this morning. My colleague actually gave me an idea to post this picture in my blog...what an idea huh...:)
