Yes, the Bangkok trip...
On 29th May, 2008...2 1/2 hours flight BKI-KUL. Arrived LCCT Airport at 12.15 pm, it's about lunch. Since we have to wait for another 4 hours to get flight connection to Bangkok, we better have our lunch first...yea McDonald, but ohhh man... it's full of people, crowded even cramp with baggage trolly. However we managed to sit and enjoyed our meals while waiting for KL, SG and HK Sales team.
There you go... everybody has arrived LCCT Airport, then proceed for check-in and great that UK Land does have a special counter to check-in, no need to line up at the long que. Well, here we had a chance to get to know each other while check-in. Errmmm... so far so good, everyone seems friendly and easy to get along with.
Sawadikap...Sabaidimai? Touched down at Sivarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok at 6.10 pm Malaysia time, it's 5.10 pm Bangkok time. Then, met by Mr Sam (Thai Guide) for coach transfer to Pathumwan Princess Hotel, MBK Centre. It takes approximately 1 hour to get to the Hotel. On the way to the Hotel, Mr Sam brief us everything and the important one is *grin* "where to go for foods, where to go for shopping, how to do a good bargain and so on". Mr Sam also mentioned that the Hotel we're going to stay is just within the Shopping Centre (MaBoonKong - MBK Centre), we can do our shopping in there... BUT Mr Sam suggest us to go for shopping at "Chatuchak" (where we are well aware of this place *wink*), the weekends market is much much cheaper and you can even do a very good bargain... *big grin* well, looking forward to "Chatuchak".
Errmm... it's really a long way to the Hotel, I starts feel dizzy, headache and feels vomitting, too bad I didn't bring any medicine...*sigh*
By the way, when we arrived at the Hotel... pheww! we was surprise that we need to be scan and check by the Hotel Security when entering the Hotel, just like when you go for boarding in the Airport haha... well, I think it's good to be that way huh, to avoid any uncertainty.
Anyway, after checked-in we went down to find a very nice foods for our dinner. Ohhh... we are running out of time, the food court will close in 1/2 hour time (10.00pm) and we need to purchase coupon and need to choose our food. There you go... about 50 food stalls, all the foods look yummy! mostly hot foods, till I get confuse which food to take. So, I asked for "Tom Yam Gong" but finished, too bad that most of the food I asked for, all finished. I end up ordered chicken rice (Thai style), look delicious but wooppss... it taste sweet *sigh* nahhh... taste sweet is not my type of food lah. I even tried the foods ordered by my friends taste sweet as well...
On 30th May, 2008... We were out the whole day. We went to "Four Buddha Face Temple", lots of people went there. It's a place where all Buddhist will say their prayer for everything good such as praying for good business, health, lifes and so on. Thereafter, we went to few shopping centre just for window shopping while comparing the prices too as knowing that "Chatuchak" is the right place to shop... *wink* Eventhough, most of the things in the shopping centre are cheaper than KK but still we stick with "Chatuchak"
Back to the Hotel around 2.30 pm, then continue our round at MBK shopping centre until we feel so tired and went for foot massage, wow! feel so good and so relax. The foot massage takes an hour for only 250 Baht (RM24.00), worth it right. Errmm... not enough with the foot massage lah, then continue with pedicure, manicure and nail painting, wahhh... we really pampered ourselves oh kan hehe...bila lagi...
Continue with our window shopping again! but this time cannot stand anymore from buying very very cheap lah, so spent about 1000 baht for the final round at MBK centre for that night. Phewww... still patience for "Chatuchak" though.
Finally, we back to the Hotel room at 10.00 pm. Took shower and relax on the bed while watching TV, errmmm... feel bored ?*@?!. Suddenly, my friend Jaime came up with an idea to go to Hard Rock Cafe... yes! why not, then we get ready and went down to the lobby and get the concierge to call a taxi for us. Guess what? taxi doesn't want to go to Hard Rock Cafe... wondering why??? Then the concierge asked us to follow someone and told us it's FOC, but who dare right, we don't even know who the person is. So we just said to him "it's ok, we will find our way" (mikikiut lagi bah kami, bagus-bagus kena hantar, tapi takut juga kena jual nanti...wukakaa). Then the person came to us and introduced himself as Mr Phon, he's actually one of the Hotel Manager, he's off duty and offered to drop us by as Hard Rock Cafe is on his way home. And hey! he drive a new model MERCEDES man! (soropondo kasakai do morcidis, kekekee...). No wonder no taxi to go to Hard Rock Cafe, it's actually just around the corner of the opposite building...(kalau taxi hantar pun tara untung... tambang murah bah, RM1.00 ja kali). At least we aren't boring with the music rather than to stay in the Hotel room. One good thing in Hard Rock Cafe, smoking is not allowed at least easy to breath even so crowded. Ohhh... it's closing time at 2.00 am, so we walked back to the Hotel with a wrong direction though, haha...! but lucky not far from the Hotel lah.
On 31st May, 2008. Yes, finally! "Chatuchak" day, after breakfast in the Hotel, we get a taxi to "Chatuchak". Upon arrival, I was soooo excited looking at the market (just like our pasar malam) but it's very huge... pheww! how to round all the stalls (patah pinggang kali ohhh). Alright, without wasting our time we start our explore race, here you go... "Chatuchak" "Chatuchak" "Chatuchak" "Chatuchak" "Chatuchak" heyyy... guess what??? the price are almost the same at the shopping centre... aarrrrgghhhh... only some things are cheap like bags, you can get around RM10.00 - RM30.00, Shoes around RM10.00 - RM20.00 and children wear around RM8.00 - RM10.00, all Thailand made but very nice one. Thinking to carry things back to KK sure kena tax so, I didn’t shop a lot though, since we have wasted the last 2 days to do price comparison, therefore my shopping mood has fade away… what a lesson *sigh* At around 2.30 pm we decided to get back to the Hotel, feels so tired and ouch…! I had a very bad back pain too. Arrived Hotel, took a shower and took a little nap as we need to get ready at 6.30 pm for company dinner and to the "T" show. Ermm… the dinner is just nice but still taste sweet...isk isk, nothing much about the "T" show as I think you have heard about it before right…
On 1st June, 2008 our flight BKK-KUL at 10.00 am, so our pick up time from the Hotel is at 8.00 am. Arrived LCCT Airport at 12.00 noon, and again we have to wait for another 4 hours to connect flight KUL-BKI.
It’s such a tiring trip, I brought back my worst back pain home. However, I will surely come back to Bangkok for a next holiday, I will make sure to plan well especially for shopping *wink* And I really hope that Air Asia will come back with their direct flight BKI-BKK-BKI soon.
